CHARACTER INFO
Name: Arle Nadja
Gender: Female
Source: Madou Monogatari / Puyo Puyo
Canon point: After Puyo Puyo 7, but before Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary.
Age: "About 16", according to the wiki. Dunno where it gets its info but it seems about right.
Colour: #0055FF
Chumhandle: blueDarling

History:
The combined Madou Monogatari and Puyo Puyo series is... long. Dungeon crawlers and falling-block puzzlers are both genres known to be light on plot, but there's still too much to fully explain, so I'll just sum up. hurr princess bride references, that's a movie that's totally not quoted to death yet
Madou Monogatari 1 - Arle has to clear a slime-infested tower to pass kindergarten, taking "high educational standards" a bit too far.
Madou Monogatari 2 - Arle is kidnapped by Schezo the Dark Wizard, who steals her magic powers, thus explaining why she starts off at the same power level at age 16 as she did at age 5. After getting out of that, she defeats Satan in an unrelated dungeon and meets Carbuncle, who becomes her BFF for the rest of both series.
Madou Monogatari 3 - Rulue loves Satan. Satan loves Arle. Arle isn't interested. Rulue is not aware of the third fact. Combat ensues.
Puyo Puyo (1) - Satan fakes like he's going to destroy the world, to lure Arle to him. It works, but he forgets the part where Arle is a competent fighter and she stops his fake plans by beating him to a pulp.
Puyo Puyo Tsu (2) - Masked Satan, who is totally not regular Satan at all, stages a tournament to lure Arle to him, hoping not to get beaten up this time. It works, but she's still not interested.
Puyo Puyo Sun (3) - Satan makes the sun bigger to get a tan, coincidentally turning the entire game beach-themed. (Apparently he had not considered this, as he doesn't make even one mention of wanting to see Arle in a swimsuit.) Arle, not a fan of the heat, beats Satan up and turns it off.
Puyo Puyo~n (4) - Satan accidentally summons an evil circus, which kidnaps Carbuncle and summons an evil clone of Arle. Guess who fixes both of those things by beating Satan up?
Minna de Puyo Puyo - Carbuncle noms on a shiny thing. It turns out to be a piece of a larger shiny thing. Arle quests to put it back together. (Spoilers: it's yet another plot by Satan to woo Arle. Double spoilers: Arle still isn't interested.)
Puyo Puyo Fever and Fever 2 - No longer the main character, Arle still manages to make a brief appearance in these games, thanks to somehow accidentally teleporting herself here while playing Puyo.
Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary - Tournaments! Wish-granting medals! Madou-era characters that aren't Arle and Carbuncle finally get to meet Fever-era characters! Such a continuity trainwreck that it was pre-emptively declared non-canon!
Puyo Puyo 7 - A blob of darkness possesses Arle and starts flooding Ringo's world with Puyo, then tricks her into weakening spacetime by playing Puyo at seven magical nexuses. "I did it for the lulz!"

Personality:
As the protagonist of the series, Arle is energetic, determined, and outgoing. She does show a hint of laziness, however -- and the one time she's called on it, she tries to rationalize it with a flimsy handwave. Her favorite color is blue, and (by her own admission) she always wears the same outfit. Given who (tl;dr: skeleton with "is fashion" as his primary character trait) she chose to mention this to, one might also conclude that she doesn't always think before acting.

While she's not particularly interested in hero-ing, she has fairly often stumbled across nefarious plots by accident, and at that point she can't simply walk away because it'd be easier. And then, of course, sometimes the villains make it personal.

Abilities & physical limitations:
From Madou Monogatari, she has a bunch of neato magic spells. Fire, Ice Storm, and Thunder all do what they sound like. Healing heals, Braindumbed dumbs brains, and Bayoeen is distractingly impressive. Diacute doubles the power of her next spell, and can be stacked as many times as she can recast it. (Yes, this did form the backbone of all strategy in Madou Monogatari.)
From Puyo Puyo, she has the ability to summon Puyo. Her control over the Puyo is, sadly, limited to rotating and dropping them, and once they land, they'll just sit there until their tiny Puyo brains give them a better idea (which is usually popping themselves). Since this spell was created as the basis of a competitive game, it comes with the ability to grant it to other people.
As a primary spellcaster, she is hilariously weak in the physical attack department. Even at max level, she will require several hits to defeat even the weakest enemies.
Appearance: Pic.
Notable AU differences from canon, if applicable: A small difference: Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary is usually considered non-canon, because it has over two dozen storylines, all of which contradict each other. (For an obvious example, the game centers around a tournament and each character's storyline ends with their victory.) This Arle is taking her path in that game as canon, the major difference being that she has possession of the tournament's prize, a medal which grants one wish. (She has already used the one wish, and it will not be of use in the context of this RP.)

Strife Specibus: Fankind. (As in "paper", but SBURB is literal enough to allow rotary fans or fanpeople if she finds a way to weaponize them.)
Prototyping: Carbuncle.
Title: Student of Chains
In-game abilities: As a hero of Chains, she has the ability to string things together (such as attacks!) and control the movement of others. As a Student, she gains her abilities largely from NPC interaction, with echeladder levels mostly just increasing her power.
Planet: Land of Stone and Mist. A planet covered in stonehenges and filled with a complex network of underground dungeons. There's also this vision-killing mist all throughout the place. The bat consorts, luckily, don't use their vision to navigate. Unfortunately, the Denizen has disrupted the very geology of the place, causing frequent earthquakes, and a low but constant rumble which reduces their effective "vision" to but a fraction of its usual range.

RP Sample:
>Arle: Defeat the enemy!
"What, you don't think that's exactly what I'm trying to do? The Cockatrice is powerful, and I'm fighting it the best I can."

>Arle: Cast Wind!
"I don't know that spell, and even if I did, casting it now doesn't fit into my strategy at all."

>Arle: Explain your strategy.
"Cast Diacute. Cast Diacute again. Keep casting it until I can't cast it any more, either because the Cockatrice is about to defeat me, or I've run out of mana. Cast Ice Storm, boosted to extreme levels by all those Diacutes. Win, hopefully."

>Arle: Cast Ice Storm now!
"Dude, no, I've only cast three-- Ice Storm!"

==>
A pathetic few dozen shards of ice fly at the Cockatrice, dealing moderate damage.

==>
"Well, thanks. Now I'm definitely screwed."

>Cockatrice: Be defeated.
"It's an enemy, you know you can't command enemies."

==>
Coincidentally, the Cockatrice is defeated anyway.

==>
"... Okay. I'll take it."

>Arle: Reap spoils of victory.
"This doesn't seem right, though. Didn't I do this once already?"

>Arle: Reminisce.
"There's not much to it. It's what I did when I was five. Speaking of, I suppose the power difference explains why it was defeated so easily. Why was it back, though?"

>Arle: Wake up.
"What."

==>
Arle wakes up in her bed.

==>
"jsdgh. five more minutes."

>Arle: Be jumped on by Carbuncle.
"no i don't wann-- OOF

"Okay, okay, Carby, I'm awake, I'm awake. Geez."

==>
"It was the weirdest dream. I've had flashbacks before, but usually they resembled the actual event a little more than that one. And even when they were wildly divergent, they never had that weird guy giving me orders."

"Gu?"

"I think it was a guy, anyway. The voice had the weirdest tone to it. Or rather, the weirdest no tone at all." Ding. "Ah, breakfast is ready."

"Gu, gu-guuu?"

"Yes, yours is curry-flavored. Yours is always curry-flavored."

"Gu, gu!"

"That only happened once."
